The School Leadership Academy (SLA) was established in 2016 at the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Haryana, under the umbrella of the National Centre for School Leadership (NCSL), National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA). SLA, Haryana, is aiming at the transformation of schools by addressing the leadership requirements and other school issues in all blocks and clusters of the total 22 districts of the state. In order to realise the aim of SLA of transforming schools by creating new generation leaders, SLA conducts training programmes for all newly promoted heads as well as for existing heads. Capacity-building training for the State Resource Group (SRG) is also conducted by SLA. Apart from training, SLA, SCERT documents best practices of school leaders in the form of case studies and videography. These documents are uploaded on the NCSL portal as well as on the SCERT website. For the purpose of uploading videos, SLA, SCERT has its own YouTube channel where video resources are shared. The database of school leaders who have been trained under various schemes and policies is also maintained by SLA, Haryana. SLA, Haryana, has organised a One-Month Certificate Course for school leaders and an online pedagogical leadership programme with great success. SLA, Haryana is also working on the development of an online module on school leadership development, where topics like cyber-crime, community participation, POCSO, Education in Mewat, extra-curricular activities and the role of leaders in respective areas have already been uploaded on the NCSL portal and SCERT website. Online guest lectures and webinars were also conducted on emerging issues such as 21st-century skills, NEP 2020, development of SCF, etc., by SLA for the continuous professional development of school leaders and telecasted live on the YouTube channel of SLA for future reference and creating an open repository. SLA, Haryana continues the journey and is looking forward to achieving the goal of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) set by NEP 2020.
