JOURNEY OF SCHOOL LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

School Leadership Academy (SLA), Chhattisgarh was established at State Institute of Educational Management and Training (SIEMAT) in 2015. State Centre for School Leadership (SCSL) has been established under National Center for School Leadership (NCSL), National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) for professional development of School Heads and other functionaries. The academy seeks to offer training in educational management to administrative and managerial officers, as well as employees involved in school education, with the goal of ensuring quality in educational institutions by fostering a transparent, development-oriented, results-driven, and efficient system. SCSL focuses on capacity building for school heads within the State. SCSL is doing work related to capacity development of school heads of the State. During the entire period since it was formed, SLA, Chhattisgarh has conducted several training programmes on School Leadership Development and Management for education officers and school heads from government primary and middle schools across all districts and blocks. SIEMAT in collaboration with the School Leadership Academy, produced a documentary film featuring five schools and developed modules addressing academic needs and challenges, such as preventing malnutrition and improving learning outcomes. Documentation was also done on exemplary school heads and induction training was provided to Swami Atmanand Government English Medium School of Excellence (SAGES) principals through a partnership with the Chhattisgarh Academy of Administration. Development of training modules, capacity development of school heads regarding how to develop self-learning, preparing district-wise coaches to guide principals on new educational activities, peer group meetings, preparing school observation and inspection module and educational tour for school heads of other states are some other initiatives being undertaken by the academy.
