JOURNEY OF SCHOOL LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

The State Institute of Educational Management and Training (SIEMAT), in collaboration with the National Centre for School Leadership (NCSL), National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), began the journey of school leadership development in 2016 with the prime motive of transforming schools into centres of excellence. The School Leadership Academy (SLA), housed in the existing SIEMAT building on the premises of the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Shamlaghat, became functional and started organising leadership and management programmes for school heads. SLA, Himachal Pradesh, is involved in capacity-building workshops for state leadership teams, a one-month certificate course in school leadership and management, and the documentation and development of materials such as modules, case studies, and video documentaries of schools on school leadership development for the dissemination of good practices.
