JOURNEY OF SCHOOL LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

The School Leadership Academy, Kerala popularly known as SLA-K was formally launched in the State in February 2016. A team comprising the Director, Chief Coordinator and Nodal Officer from State Institute of Educational Management and Training (SIEMAT) formulates and implements the programmes and activities of SLA-K with assistance of the Junior Consultants engaged at the academy. School Leadership Academy has been functioning as a vibrant academic entity in accordance with the guidelines of National Centre for School Leadership (NCSL) and the educational aspirations of the state ever since its inception. Even during Covid-19, the academy functioned as a unique laboratory to develop and experiment innovative educational concepts and models. A 15 member SRG was formed for the academy, drawing the best among visionaries, academicians, experts and opinion leaders. The academy has managed to collect documentation on innovative practices and models experimented/implemented from several public schools of the state, ranging from lower primary/upper primary level to secondary/vocational/higher secondary levels. The YouTube Channel of SLA-K which was launched in 2021 have several videos and live programmes. A Lecture Series on Educational Management was launched by SLA-K. Module of the Programme on School Leadership & Management (PSLM) prepared by NCSL was recreated in Malayalam with state-specific additions and essential modifications and uploaded on NCSL portal. The School Leadership Academy, Kerala, continues its dedicated journey toward fostering leadership development and driving school transformation in the state.
