JOURNEY OF SCHOOL LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

National Centre for School Leadership (NCSL), National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) has been established with the prime purpose of transforming ordinary schools into Schools of Excellence. With this vision, State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Uttar Pradesh was chosen to perform as School Leadership Academy (SLA) in 2016. The main focus of this programme is to prepare school leaders for school transformation. The School Leadership Academy has made significant progress in institutionalizing the School Leadership Development Programme (SLDP) in Uttar Pradesh. One of its key initiatives is the training programme for school principals of secondary and senior secondary schools, which includes a One Month Certificate Course in school leadership and management. Additionally, the Academy has trained Head Masters under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) through a 10-day school leadership and management programme. To further promote leadership awareness, a leadership brochure was prepared. These consistent efforts aim to enhance the capabilities of school leaders across the state.
