                                                          Abstract

                      This school caters to students belonging to scheduled tribes such as Munda, Orao, Khadiya, Asur
                      and Birhor among others. The language of 94% population in this area is Mundari. The people of
                      villages are employed in agriculture, cottage industries and steel industry.  The main challenges of
                      the  school  head  were  human  trafficking,  child  marriage  and  lack  of  avenues  for  vocational
                      education.   The  school  ensured  safety  of  school  infrastructure  by  holding  special  meetings
                      with Gramsabha, Panchayat Samiti, SMC and teachers, awareness rallies and printing of pamphlets
                      – resulted in safety of school building and infrastructure by community. Issues related to human
                      trafficking are discussed in detail in the morning assembly; students are made aware of various
                      strategies to prevent being allured by strangers, to be in constant touch with school staff and share
                      everything with parents. The school holds special karate training among students for self defense.
                      Girls have become empowered in their fight against human trafficking and can handle any adverse
                      situation with enhanced self-confidence.
