Abstract

The school head and his team identified students who were irregular or those who had
discontinued education after class 8; worked through teams of students associated with junior red
cross and made home-to-home contact, created awareness about education and discussed the
adverse effects of child marriage. They sought help from the community and representatives of
organizations to create awareness about the importance of education - through slogans, chaupal
discussion, pamphlet distribution, rallies etc. Special provision has been made for the neediest
students of the school (from economic background). The perspective of parents has changed; they
are willing to send their children to government schools because of provision of quality education.
People are aware of various government schemes and cooperate with the school.
