The National Centre for School Leadership visualizes School Leaders as change agents who initiate, motivate and take each stakeholder along in the journey of school transformation. School change and transformation requires grit, passion and a will to resolve challenges on multiple fronts. This journey is filled with roadblocks, unexpected reversals and moments of doubt. A true leadership is one which exhibits fortitude, steadfastness and adaptability so that the school is progressing in a positive direction. The school culture thus created through a set of tangible and intangible behaviours, actions and practices by the school leadership team reflects the myriad personalities and aspirations of school head, teachers, students’ parents and the community at large. Any positive change in a school is thus a product of efforts of many people.

Recognizing the efforts of school leaders and their teams, the National Centre for School Leadership invites case studies and video documentaries documenting best practices as an annual feature. This initiative of the Centre is popular by the name of ‘Celebrating School Leadership’. The Centre also holds a National Conference on School Leadership Development that serves as a platform for sharing knowledge, perspectives, exchanging best practices and discussing key challenges and innovative solutions in school leadership. The Conference is an opportunity for School Leaders to share their invaluable insights, initiate cross-State/UT learnings and foster collaboration, all of which contributes to building stronger leadership networks and improve quality of education in the country. The conference creates a networking environment where school leaders can interact with their peers from different regions. This collaboration fosters the exchange of ideas and experiences, allowing School Leaders to learn from one another and find solutions to similar problems. Such platforms are also opportunities for professional growth and development.
