The National Centre for School Leadership, NIEPA, has developed a comprehensive framework and resources to enhance school leadership across India. This includes the National Programme Design and Curriculum Framework on School Leadership Development (2015, 2014) and a Handbook on School Leadership Development, both translated into 12 Indian languages. The Handbook on School Leadership Development (2014) outlines 16-day model of capacity building programme for school heads across elementary and secondary schools; the Resource Book for One Month Certificate Course (2016) is an induction programme for leadership development of school principals of secondary schools and Pedagogical Leadership: A Handbook for Leading Learning in Schools 2020 (in collaboration with CBSE) is designed keeping in mind leadership challenges of improving student learning in central government schools.

Further, the Centre is in the process of developing practitioner-centric content for Post Graduate Diploma in School Leadership and Management as a long-term course for aspiring school heads. self-instructional packages on School Leadership Development for School Heads and Educational Administrators are launched in the year 2022-2023, namely: (a) Leadership Pathways to Continuous Professional Development: A Package of Self- Instructional Modules for School Leaders (2022) and (b) Enabling School Ecosystem: Nurturing School Leadership to Support Learning in Collaboration with Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (2022).
