JOURNEY OF SCHOOL LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

To equip school leaders with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude to transform schools, the Bihar State Government designated the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) as the School Leadership Academy in 2019, in consultation with the National Centre for School Leadership (NCSL), National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA). Over the past years, the School Leadership Academy of Bihar has emerged as a key partner of NCSL, contributing significantly to the four components of NCSL's program framework: curriculum and material development, capacity building, networking and institutional development, and research and development. The School Leadership Academy, Bihar continues to work on all these components through various activities. SLA, Bihar conducted several key activities and programs during the past years like orientation session for the SLA core team, followed by the reorganization of the core team, development of case studies, modules and video documentaries showcasing best practices from different schools of the State. SLA Bihar also developed a handbook for leadership development of the principals. Workshops focusing on script development and videography have been organised. Field visits for school videography to capture leadership practices in schools have also been undertaken.
