Abstract
The school is located in tribal belt with agriculture as the main occupation. The school is situated
in tribal area, which is culturally rich but socially secluded. The parents of the students are poor,
engaged in farming and are less aware about modern technology. The school head motivated
people to save money for modern technology and computers, bought a laptop and a projector.
Within one year, three computers were installed and students started learning computers after
school hours. As a result, gradually parents started trusting the efforts of the principal. The school
has its own blog, android application, YouTube channel, Facebook Page, Twitter account.
RNEWS has been created, run by students - well acknowledged in the region. The school uses QR
code and AR for teaching-learning process.
Socio-Cultural Context of the School
My Rangpur Primary School is located in the tribal area. Where people are way behind in many basic in
technology. The kids did not even know what Google is. Teachers in the school were also was not up to
date in technology. They were accustomed to teach students from traditional education system. There was
not a single computer in the school. How can the concept of school and education be done without
computers in today‘s modern world? Farming is the main occupation in the village and people are not well
off in their economic status -therefore living poor life style. So, I cannot get any help from student‘s
parents. In such circumstances, how to prepare student‘s, teachers and school with technology was a big
problem for me.
