DR. CHARU SMITA MALIK is currently working as a Senior Consultant in
NCSL, NIEPA. She obtained her Ph.D. in Educational Policy, Planning and
Administration from the National University of Educational Planning and
Administration, New Delhi. Her research was based on issues of equity in access
and participation at secondary level in Uttar Pradesh. She completed her Post
Graduation in Sociology from JawaharLal Nehru University and Graduation from
University of Delhi. She is working with the Centre in designing and developing
the School Leadership programme along with the team and is involved in teaching
Certificate and Post Graduate Diploma programmes in School Leadership and
Management. In the field, she is engaged intensively with school leadership
programme implementation in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Haryana,
Maharashtra and more recently with Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand. Her
areas of interest include educational planning and school leadership. In 2019-
2020, she has been involved in Capacity Building of State Resource Persons
for NISHTHA- National Initiative for School Heads' and Teachers' Holistic
Advancement, a nation-wide programme of MHRD.
