                                                          Abstract

                           This  school  believes  in  an  open  climate  of  teaching  and  learning  that  strengthens
                           professional practice through a continuous process of sharing of successful pedagogy
                           and  evidence  based  learning  outcomes.  The  school  head has  introduced  innovative
                           teaching-learning  methods,  including  ICT  integrated  pedagogy.  They  have  ensured
                           participation of all children in school activities; appreciate students who come to school
                           regularly. The school arranges for games and extracurricular activities for both parents
                           and  students  on  annual  day,  sports  day  every  year.   Teachers  also
                           attend Gramasabha meeting  and  discuss  student‘s  problems  and  discuss  solutions.  It
                           won the Best School Award in science exhibition in the year 2016 and 2017.



                                            Socio-Cultural Context of the School

               Our school situated in the outskirts of the famous town Kumbakonam is known as a "temple
               town"  due  to  the  prevalence  of  a  number  of temples here  and  is  noted  for  its Mahamaham
               festival which  attracts  people  from  all  over  the  globe. The  town  is  bounded  by  two  rivers,
               the Kaveri River to the north and Arasalar River to the south. The town reached the zenith of its
               prosperity  during  the British  Raj when  it  was  a  prominent  centre  of  European  education  and
               Hindu culture; and it acquired the cultural name, the "Cambridge of South  India". People live
               around the school are mostly earn their livelihood by daily wages.
