As a part of the Haritha haaram program, school garden is being
maintained. One day each in a week is allotted for cultural activity, mass drill,
yoga, sports and games, clean and green and quiz. The school also organized
“Vanasandarshini” to visit a forest and acquaint the students with flora and
fauna and to appreciate biodiversity. Exhibitions and Voters Day were also
organized.
KAREEMNAGAR DISTRICT
ZPHS Keshavapatnam-Shankarpatnam, Karimnagar: A. Mamatha Gouthami
The school has started involving public representatives to reduce the school
absenteeism. The list of absentees is sent to the Village Head. School pledge is
taken in different languages on rotation. The teachers and students speak the
same language for entire day, the same that language they take the pledge in.
Open library is being conducted once in a week, where all students of the
school reads books at same time. Every student is made to list 10 bad habits
they have, and students are motivated to get rid of them voluntarily. School
logo “Step into learn –Step out to serve” was prepared. Paintings related to
hand wash on school water tank has created awareness on the importance of
hand wash among the student community. Allotted one tap each for each class
to avoid rush and helped to maintain discipline. A school cabinet was formed
to undertake the activities of school including of monitoring of midday meal.
Every class conducts Balasabha once in a month.

The school organized coaching for the entrance examination of Navodaya
Vidyalaya; Polytechnic entrance; NMMS and even online coaching with the
support of local community, particularly, the Village Development Committee
(VDC), .
Increase in attendance of SMC meetings, as meeting dates are finalized in
consultation with SMC meetings. Through complaints and suggestions box,
the teachers have become sensitive to the needs of the students and students
are happier with the teaching thereafter. Through team work of the school
staff, effort is being made to declare that no child is left without basic skills
i.e., Reading, Writing and Arithmetic.
