corrective measures to improve the performance levels of the students. The
staff takes note of absentees daily and informs and meets with the parents in
this regard. This effort has helped improve the overall attendance of the
students. Staff was also assigned other responsibilities such as observing the
classroom processes, maintaining transparency in School affairs and
distribution of work among school staff.
ZPSS-Beeravally, Nirmal District: Head Master-T. Parameshwar
A unique programme ‘Maatruvandanam’ was organized at school, where
students did ‘pada puja’ to their respective mothers. A documentary film
‘Balamitra’ was produced under the guidance of the School Head. Balautsav
(children festival) was organized. Literary clubs to promote literary activities
at the school level are made functional. At the school level many events were
organized like Mathru Basha Dinotosvam, Teachers Day, camps with CWSN,
health checkups (eye camp), yoga, competitions on patriotic songs, Aids day,
World Population Day and collection of flood relief funds.
Under Haritha haaram ‘NenuNaaMokka’ (Myself and my plant), eco clubs
were established under NGC activities. Awareness on Herbal medicinal plants
and its propagation was organized. Health camps were also organized to spread
awareness on Malaria, Phyleria and other communicable diseases.
ZPSS, Elvi, Nirmal District: Head Master - C. Devidas
The school has largely succeeded in making all teachers and children
attend school assembly. The Headmaster spends half an hour on a daily basis
to personally monitor the cleanliness in the school premises. Staff members
were delegated duties to undertake school activities and are encouraged to
conduct these activities as a team, rather than individually.
Effectiveness of learning is checked by conducting surprise visits to
classrooms and making sure every class uses digital aids for learning once a
week on a rotation basis. Students are encouraged to practice writing journals
as a habit.
In the near future, the school also wishes to bring about changes in the
teaching and learning processes and prevention of the use of Cell phones by
the staff members during the school hours.
ZPHS, Koutla (B)- Sarangpur, Nirmal District: Head Mistress - Salomi Karuna
The SLDP brought about a remarkable attitude change in the School Head.
To keep with touch in academics, the School Head has started teaching two
subjects Bio. Science and Hindi and has familiarized herself with the contents
of all the textbooks of VI to X and teachers’ handbooks. To increase
