of school too, I decided to implement a zero garbage campaign in the school
with the help of students and my staff members. I took this change on the
nd
occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October 2018 .
Every staff members including me have been given a responsibility to keep
the particular portion of the school clean and healthy. We have appointed cleaning
workers on daily wages. They help our staff for cleaning. To keep the premises
clean, students are given rites to keep the surroundings clean. Students are
avoiding themselves to throw the waste papers, wrappers of chocolate or waste
food packet here and there instead they use dustbins properly. After assembly when
students entered the classroom, they clean the portion below their desk-bench and
pick the garbage if any. This helps to clean the entire classroom within 2 minutes.
We have appointed Swachchhata doot to each class to monitor the cleanliness of
the classroom. This Zero garbage campaign found very helpful to keep our school
clean and we are successful to provide healthy environment to our student and
staff. After all, we must remember that a sound mind lies in a healthy and sound
body.
Save food and water campaign -
To increase the environmental and social awareness of students, I always
advise them to avoid wastage of food and water. In the mid-day meal scheme. I
often observe that students threw away the food that they can't eat. So I with my
staff make them aware of the wastage of food. I also used to talk and explain to
them regularly about the importance of food and water, why we should avoid the
wastage of water and why we should save the water. In regards to water
conservation, we made the provisions of water conservation and water-absorbent
pits. Every year we give the pledge to the student to avoid wastage of food and
about saving water.
