of national and international importance. They also encouraged students to
form teams on different aspects in the school such as School Garden,
Cleanliness and Haritha Haram (Greenery Project) and joined hands with the
staff and local community to carry out these projects.
Classroom observations which earlier were conducted once a year are now
being done once every fortnight. Similarly, staff meetings are also conducted
once a fortnight to make academic reviews. School staffs were also made
aware on Education and service rules related G.Os and leave rules.
As an after effect of the changes in the school, the local community, being
able to see a lot of improvement in the functioning of the school, came forward
to support the school financially by providing free notebooks and financial
assistance for children in need. For instance, financial assistance was provided
to one of the students who is affected with cancer.
ZPHS, Bazarhathnur, Adilabad District: Head Master-Prahlad
To develop team spirit and ownership among the staff in the school a
decentralized approach was taken, and they were assigned charge of library,
furniture, MDM and maintenances of toilets among others. They were also
delegated the responsibility of maintenance of accounts and tracking
expenditure. This has not only increased the transparency of school funds but
has also help in better organized and keeping egos in check.
Efforts were made to improve the school attendance particularly in Class
10 by involving parents & community leaders which yielded positive results.
However, since the same effect has not been seen in other classes, need for
other strategies was realized and efforts are being made in that aspect. The
School has also started creating opportunities for students to express their ideas
freely through a School Board.
ZPHS- Dhanora, Adilabad: Head Master – Sri. K. Narsaiah
To ensure discipline among staff, the school head took has taken stern
measures by deducting half a day CL for the teachers who were not on time to
school. The community pooled in Five Lakh Rupees in the form of donation
towards the school and the school ensured transparency of financial resources
by displaying the expenditure on the school wall.
Efforts were made to improve the enrolment in class-VI, which is an entry
class and with the help from community and parents, measures are being taken
to reduce the dropout rate. Emphasis was given on Value education
particularly in Class VI, where the students are at the formative stage. For the
development of basic skills like reading, writing and arithmetic among the
students, 3-Rs program is being executed.
